Kwench care instructions for glass water bottles

Congratulations on purchasing your new glass water bottle!

Borosilicate glass water bottles are stand out stylish and eco-friendly options in the water bottle industry! We love them! Not only do they help reduce single-use plastic waste, but they are durable and resistant to thermal shock. Here's how to care properly for your new Kwench glass water bottle . . .

💦 Handwashing is Key

While some borosilicate glass water bottles may claim to be dishwasher-safe, it's  safer to hand wash them. Dishwashers can subject glass to harsh detergents and extreme temperatures, potentially compromising their integrity over time. Instead, use a mild dish soap, warm water, and a bottle brush to clean both the inside and outisde of your bottle. Rinse thoroughly to remove soapy residue.

 💦 Avoid Extreme Temperature Changes

One of the remarkable features of borosilicate glass is its resistance to thermal shock, but extreme temperature changes can still pose a risk. Avoid sudden temperature shifts, such as transferring it directly from the fridge to a super hot environment. Gradual temperature changes are better for the longevity of your glass water bottle.

💦 Regular Inspections

Occasionally give your bottle a quick look over. Check for any cracks or chips on the glass, as these could compromise the bottle's structural integrity. Also, examine the cap and its seal to ensure they're in good condition and properly aligned. Identifying potential issues early on can help prevent leaks or accidents.

💦 Keep It Odour-Free

Borosilicate glass is non-porous, which means it won't absorb odours or flavours from your drinks. However, if your bottle has a removable cap or seal, be sure to clean it well as this may hold smells.

💦 Store with Care

When not in use, store your borosilicate glass water bottle in a safe place where it won't be knocked over - after all, it is glass, and like your china dinner plate or wine glass, can break if dropped from a height or knocked against hard surfaces.

💦 Avoid Carbonated Beverages

While borosilicate glass is highly resistant to chemicals, it's not recommended for use with carbonated drinks. The pressure from carbonation can potentially cause stress on the glass and increase the risk of breakage.

Investing in a borosilicate glass water bottle is an excellent step towards sustainable living and optimal hydration. Look after your bottle and enjoy for years to come!
